2026年度アメリカ研修④
◾️レポート①
Hello there! Five days have passed since I came to the States. I'm really doing good, and everyday is filled with fun and surprises. Let me tell you what I did today.
First of all, we had a GPI session in the morning. We learned critical thinking for debate, and played a short game in which we were given a topic and answer whether we agree or disagree with it, and split into groups to share opinions. And we have a debate tomorrow. For me, I am a student of PDA即興型英語ディベート, so it was easy for me to understand the topic, and share opinions. I really enjoyed it.
Next, we visited the company called B-trax which is a design and innovation agency based in San Francisco and Tokyo. A Japanese woman introduced their company, and told about design thinking. The words stayed with me are "Don't just respond to customer requests and uncover the real needs behind them". Thanks to my privileged environment, I had a lot of opportunities to visit many companies in Japan, and they all said that responding the needs is the most important thing, but none of them talked about looking beyond those needs to understand what customers truly want. So it was very valuable for me.
Finally, we went to Trader Joe's and Target. It was my first time visiting supermarkets in the States, so it was so excited. I bought some snacks for my club members and some bags for my mother.
Since I came here, I talked with a lot of people such as GPI staff, group leaders and university tour guides. Tomorrow is the last day of GPI session, so I will keep speaking a lot of English and using my brain!
