2025年度第11回即興型英語ディベート
HAPPY NEW YEAR!
On Wednesday January 14th, we held the eleventh debate meeting of this academic year.
First, the group of students who participated in the PDA National Tournament and the group of students who participated in the Hyogo Prefecture HPDU Tournament reported about these events to all members. Their comments included levelling up their abilities, enjoying meeting with students from other schools, and so on. They all had a positive time and recommended joining future contests to everyone!
After the reports, the debates began. As usual, there were two debates judged by online judges. The first was Patriotism should be emphasized in compulsory education (義務教育課程で愛国心を強調すべきである). The second was Wild fish catching should be prohibited and fish should be farmed (天然魚の漁獲は禁止し、魚は養殖すべきである).
Although most students had had a long break from English debating over the winter vacation, all members debated very actively in both debates. The students' efforts to make plenty of eye contact with the judges to improve delivery was especially notable in the second round.
