海外留学レポート
カナダ中期留学レポート③
カナダに1月から留学中の、中学3年生2名の生徒からレポートが届いています。今回が第3弾になります。残り1か月弱、ますます充実した時間を過ごしてくれることを期待しています。
There were four-day holidays this weekend.
I went to Whistler to ski on Friday. It was really fun! I had a new friend there. I went to Gastown on Saturday with my friends. I bought many things, such as maple butter and maple tea. I went out with my host mother and the Italian student on Sunday. We went to McArthurGlen Designer Outlet. We had Japanese food for lunch, such as ramen, takoyaki, and sushi. They were good. We ate ice cream, too. On Monday, we went to go bowling with her sister's family. We also watched a movie and played some games at the game center. It was very fun!!!
In my food class, we often do cooking. We made Cappuccino Muffins, Chocolava Cookies, Blueberry Scones, and Garlic Cheese Biscuits. All of them were good! We'll make Banana Breads tomorrow. (Sさんのレポート③)
I have less than a month left in my study abroad program. In this article, I would like to introduce some of the differences I noticed between Canadian high schools and Japanese high schools.
Students do not clean.
→Students do not clean the school at all. The staffs do it.
Students wear normal clothes for PE class.
→Students wear their regular clothes for PE class. P.E. is done in plain clothes. Of course, students enter the gymnasium without changing their sports shoes.
Everyone wears light clothes even though it is in the middle of winter.
→Everyone is wearing light clothes.
In Canada, it is easy to spend time even in light clothes because the room is kept very warm.
There is no such concept as "5 minutes before class. Basically on time.
→Everyone can do whatever they want. But that is good.
There are no textbooks. Only basic handouts.
→No textbooks LOL!
In class, printouts are handed out at the beginning, and we go through them in class. A three-point binder is useful.
Classes are based on a credit system of required and elective subjects. Students experience the university-like atmosphere of high school.
→The format is very similar to that of a university, which I find interesting.
Physical education is mixed with men and women.
→There is no separation of boys and girls in P.E. class. We play basketball together.
There are only a few days left of my study abroad experience, but I hope to enjoy it while gaining many more experiences! (Iさんのレポート③)
