海外留学レポート

【中期留学】レポート③

ニュージーランドに中期留学中のMさんから、レポートが届きました。

Hello, everyone.

At the end of February, I had athletics day at school.

There are four houses like Harry Potter :Kauri, Rimu, Totara and Matai which are native trees in NZ. Students and teachers participated in the athletics day wearing clothing in their respective house colors. I'm in the Kauri, so I wore a green T-shirt, green sunglasses, and a green hair tie.

The events included javelin, 1500m running, shot put, long jump, pole vaulting and so on.

Students can participate in the events they are interested in. So students who are not good at sports do not have to participate in the events. They supported and cheered their houses from the tents.

I wish that Japanese athletics festival would do the same system.

Other than that, students were selling ice creams and everyone was singing. It was a lot of fun!

I'm glad I was able to participate in this event while studying abroad.

By the way, I went to Sky Tower which is tallest building in the Southern Hemisphere, last weekend.

The weather in NZ is changeable, but fortunately it was sunny day, so I was able to see some beautiful scenery like the photo below.

The center of Auckland is a city of buildings, but if you move around a little you can feel the richness of nature.

There are two weeks left of my studying abroad for two months. I can't believe I'm going back to Japan soon, but I would like to enjoy my life in NZ.
