留学レポート⑨

Hallo!

Firstly, I would like to write about football. I think football is one of the most popular sports in Germany.

At school, students often talk about the FIFA World Cup. There are also events such as public viewings, where people gather together and enjoy watching football matches. Last week, I went to a public viewing with my friends, and we had a great time.

At school, there was also an event where students predicted the results of all the matches in advance and received points for correct predictions.

My host family decorated the living room with German and Japanese flags. We watched not only the German matches but also the Japanese matches together.

Secondly, I would like to write about OLMUN, which I participated in last week for four days. OLMUN stands for Oldenburg Model United Nations. It was my first time taking part in a Model United Nations conference.

I participated as a delegate of Mongolia in UNESCO. The theme was "Rebuilding Trust in Science." Before OLMUN, I researched Mongolia's situation regarding this topic. During the debates, I voted according to what I believed would be the most suitable position for Mongolia.

This time, I struggled with understanding some of the rules and actively participating in the debates. However, if I have another opportunity, I would like to contribute more and improve my performance.

Overall, I found the preparation and research very interesting and valuable. At first, I knew very little about Mongolia, but now I have learned much more about the country, which has broadened my knowledge and perspective. In addition, I gained new insights from delegates representing other countries.

I only have one and a half weeks of school left. I have learned a lot at Herbartgymnasium, and I want to enjoy the rest of my time there.
