Grade 3, Class: Cows
27 July Wed.
Today we made ice cream. It was good but too sweet for me. After eating lunch, we went to see a musical of "Anne of Green Gables." Before we came to Canada, we saw a movie of that, so I could almost understand what they were saying. But I could laugh at their jokes only five or six times. It's just difficult to catch and understand jokes that they said.

I like this phrase: "Who wants to put their shoes on? Not me, my friend." When I said this phrase to Quaid, I was laughed at.

After I got home, I ate supper and went to the party which is held by Quaid's soccer team. Sam's house was used for the party. When Eileen, Quaid and I arrived there, everyone was playing in the lake. Mike had to work long hours so he didn't come to the party.

We paddled a kayak and swam in the lake. And we played basketball. When I said to a man that I wanted to eat a hot dog, he said, "How many hot dogs do you want?"

The man: How many hot dogs do you want?
Me: One.
The man: No. Two, three, six?
Me: Only one. I'm full.
The man: OK. After you eat that, you can come and eat more.

I was surprised at the number of sausages.
