I went to　JICA　to learn about the forests. Forests occupy one third of the surface of the earth. They are composed of a primeval forest, an artificial forest, and a secondary forest.
By the way, woods are made from cellulose, so they store carbon. Then, they take CO2; leave O2 in the air and C is stored in the body. That’s the way woods do photosynthesis. Forests shoulder 36～45% amount of carbon sequestration.
While we know forests play an important role in terms of the point mentioned above, we use the fossil fuel, so forests are decreasing. As we use the fossil fuel, we consume a tree whole, and we destroy a structure of ecosystem! Therefore, we must protect the forests!
What we can to do is to use woody biomass to built large wooden buildings, recycling wood protects, and so on. I noticed the forests are important for us to live on the earth. So I think we should do something we can do in order to protect the forests. I suppose I tell somebody about importance of the forests at first, and I want to think the other way to protect the forests with all together. M.S.
