On November 23rd, the ESS Club's Aさん took part in the 30th Japan-America Society of Kobe English Recitation Contest for High School Freshmen. This year the first time since 2019 that it was held in person, rather than online and the script, which was from Greta Thunberg's "Blah, Blah, Blah" climate change speech, was challenging, so the contest was especially challenging.

Aさん had been practicing hard for many weeks - first memorizing, then improving pronunciation, intonation, body language, facial expression and so on. This practice paid off as she delivered her recitation smoothly without hesitation and within the time limit.

This is a large contest. There were 28 speakers in the morning and the same again in the afternoon. The best speakers will be selected and told in mid-December, so we must wait and see what happens, Whatever the result, well done Aさん!
