台湾の続きを･･･

訪れた新竹市は、人口45万人。ＩＴ関連の工場や企業が集中しているため、「台湾のシリコンバレー」と呼ばれています。名門７大学にあげられる国立清華大学があり、この地域はＩＴ、半導体産業が発達しているため、所得の高い人が多いそうです。高校生も学習意欲が高く、大学で半導体技術を学び、学生時代から企業から高額な給料を得ている人も多いそうです。

新竹市の明新科技大学の見学とサイエンスパーク、ＴＳＭＣでの研修を行いました。大学の半導体の実験実習室など見学しながら工程を詳しく説明していただきました。学長、副学長、教授陣によるレセプションも行われました。

前日にレセプションで私の挨拶があることが判明しました。急遽、Ｇさんが翻訳英文を作成し、カイル先生にチェックをお願いし事なきを得ましたが、生徒のみならず私も鍛えられました。

Thank you very much for inviting us to your university.We are very happy to come to Taiwan and be able to realize the exchange with Saint Peter High School and tour the university.We humans face global issues such as the environment, energy, population, and food shortages. I believe new innovations are necessary to overcome these problems.For this purpose, educating the younger generation is very important. This education involves STEAM education and global education, and we must focus on these two.I would like to see schools in Japan and Taiwan cooperate with each other.Today is a new page.Thank you so much.
